Aerial TV introduction
TV aerials have changed quite a lot over the years and in real terms, aerials have come down a lot in price. With the invention of television, various TV aerial manufacturers began mass producing TV aerials for the mass market. TV aerials and digital technology
TV aerials up until very recently were not specifically designed for digital. The does not mean that just because you had a TV aerial fitted back in the days before digital that it will not work, far from it. A lot of the old type TV aerials will work, they are just sometimes not designed to optimise signals broadcast in digital format. The facts are, if an old aerial gives a good analogue picture now, it may well work well for Freeview digital.
TV aerials for digital TV reception
Aerials specifically designed for digital signals and reception, should ideally have certain criteria met, to produce the best possible reception. The CAI, the confederation of aerial industries recommend certain guidelines are adhered to help assist best practice.
